I just want to hoist my pack and wander off into that tundra.
The urge to ramble is getting stronger.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
-- J.R.R. Tolkien
I love the Lord of the Rings reference in this song.
Mine's a tale that can't be told,I discovered Zeppelin soon after I discovered Tolkien, and finding these little snippets of Middle Earth in their music was like stumbling upon Easter eggs.
My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air,
'Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one
Crept up and slipped away with her.
Anyway, if I disappear, look northward along the Appalachian trail.
